This article will walk you through the process of checking the battery in a ROAR Alert Device (RAD).
RADs currently come in two device types. Tap on the name of the device type for battery replacement instructions.

ROAR Athena | The ROAR Athena was sold to customers prior to June of 2021. The ROAR Athena has a rechargeable battery and a magnetic closure. | Press the button once after removing the device from the charger. The device should vibrate briefly indicating that the battery is charged sufficiently. | |
ROAR RAD 1.5 | The ROAR RAD 1.5 was sold to customers after June of 2021. The ROAR RAD 1.5 had a built-in three-year battery and comes on a lanyard or retractable reel. | Press the button one time. The LED will light up solid green if the device has a sufficient battery. The LED will blink slowly three times if the battery needs to be replaced. |
ROAR Athena Battery Replacement
Important: The ROAR Athena does not have a user-serviceable battery. Do not attempt to modify, open, or replace a battery in a ROAR Athena. If the device stops working, please contact support at support@roarforgood.com to discuss replacement options.
